Architects



Architorture, yan ang sbi mg karamihan s aming mga estudyante… Siguro hindi agad kapapniwalaan ng marami..ilan sa amin ay naligaw lang…ang iba hindi n mgawang mkbckout..^__^…ganun p amn marami sa amin ang namngarap na maging isang ganap na ARKITEKTO… Pero bakit nga ba…ARKITEKTO???? Anu bay un????

Mga karaniwang ginagawa para manatiling gising sa pggawa mg plate..^____^

-handa k bang uminom ng maraming kape...

- uminom ng maraming sting o ng red bull o cobra o extra joss.. lahat na ng energy drink.^____^

- maglagay ng vicks sa talukap ng mata…

- kumain ng madaming pagkain ang tendency tumaba.hohohoh \m/ (puyat k na nga gutom k pa?kain lang men!)

-at higit sa lahat isipin mo na ang pinakamasamang mangyari kapag hindi mo natapos…… anung mangyayari? Pwedeng bumagsak ka. Ang sakit..awwww, daig mo pa ang pinagsakluban ng langit at lupa.

Mga rason kung bakit masaya mag arki.
-mga weirdo mga kaklase mo, yung tipong puyat na puyat na tuloy pa rin ang ligaya..

-mahirap pero masaya!!!!

-yun bang malaman lang na architecture student ka…aba… “kahusay naman ng batang are!” hindi k pa arkitekto pero wow! Respetado k a nah..

-madalang lang ang arking tambay. Halos lahat nakakakuha agad ng trabaho kahit hindi matino... Haha

- sa kabila ng mga puyat at laki ng eyebags na natamo, wala pa ding hihigit sa experience na naranasan mo…

-at ang pinakamasaya, kahit lolo ka na o lola k pah kumikita ka pa din. Hindi uso dito ang resignation paper. At ang 60 years old retirement. ..=)

If you dream to be an Architect even at your young age, even if you do not have any idea about Architecture but you find time to understand everything about it, If you fight till the end to become an Architect, and you love Architecture, then you are qualified to be lined in this field.^___^

Hindi masusukat ang pagiging Arkitekto sa laki ng sweldo o sa dami ng projects na nagawa. It is about your great experience being an Architect. It is not about the money but about the experience..It is not about on the great projects you built but about the knowledge you earned during the construction or development period of your projects. Its about experience!

People respect architects

When people were asked about their impressions on architects, they most probably say "they can draw well, so they're artists and it's brilliant." or "they design houses, so they might be so hardworking to be on that job."

People's impressions are most of the time positive. Perhaps one of the perks of being an architect is that when they knew you are an architect/ architecture student, you instantly gain people's respect. Architects are like business people mixed with a nerd, an artist and a boss that can do multitasking. Being dominant with both sides of the brain, architecture is no ordinary profession.

Minsan may nagtatanong, “utoy/ineng anu gang kurso mo?” tapos tayo naman sasagot…”architecture po”

At sasagot sila, “aba! kahusay naman!”

Yan ang kalimitang sagot nila sa ating mga kapwa ko arki students…hindi bah???

We do not want expectations…yet they do not expect from us..they just admire our course for it is one of the elegant profession present in the industry. Estudyante pa lang tayo, nakakatanggap na tayo ng mga compliments..pero yung mga compliments na yun ay hindi dapat natin ikinalalaki ng ulo…bawal ang megamind^__^..bagkus dapat yun ay ginagawa nating mga inspirasyon…may mga taong nagtitiwala sa ating kakayanan..at tama patunayan natin na hindi sila nagkamali sa pgbibigay ng tiwala at respeto sa ating mga arkitekto…

We can positively impact peoples lives

Malayo man sa iyong hinagap..o hindi mo man lang naisip..may mga tao na hahanga sa iyo o sa iyong mga narating sa buhay…architects give HOPE…many aspire to do something interesting in their lives belong to a profession that offers endless opportunities to challenge yourself..being an architect is the last calling that matters..^____^

Hindi lahat ng tao ay aware sa kung anu nga ba ang arkitekto…sa kung anu nga ba ang maidudulot nila…pero minsan naisip niyo ba kung isang araw mawala ang mga arkitekto? Hu wud cares d nga bah…nothing…wala… sbi nga ng iba…hindi man lahat ng tao ay naniniwala sa kakayanan ng isang arkitekto subalit… datapwat …bagamat..^__^ bilang arkitekto,alamin mo na may halaga ka…it does and we do=) we do matter to the world or to society…even in the big scheme of things…we make a difference not only in small things but do also in the profound impact in community…d bah?

Hindi mo maaapreciate ang halaga ng isang bagay kung hindi mo ito naiintindihan..You need to understand its purpose. Architecture is not only about designing or constructing a building..it is not about the aesthetic beauty of a structure but it is about nurturing the lives of the people. The convenience of your clients and the function of the spaces are the priorities in this matter.

Experimentation is expected

Architects have their own largest laboratory in all professions. They are truly gifted..=) Why and how do we say so??

Unlike the other professions, when they were given a problem, they arrive to an identical set of solutions while architects have their own problem solutions INDIVIDUALLY…

Kung sa math.. may exact solution..may exact answer…d ba ang hirap..

Pero sa architecture, you can express your own solution to the problem..walang mali mali..lahat accepted..=)

Architecture also evolves! We try everything! We do not fix on something! We are one of the great explorers for we explore for new things, new concepts, new materials, new knowledge, and new experiences.

Wagas sa experiment ang field na to^___^

Dito maaapreciate mo ang traffic…mahirap paniwalaan pero tunay...yung mgkakaron ka ng time na magmasid ng mga buildings, bahay o kung anu mang structure..mararanasan mong humanga o kaya naman mamula..normal na yun sa isang arki student..yun tipong mapapaWOW k na lang kpag nagkita ka ng isang napakagandang gusali..o.o

dahil minsan mula dun sa exterior view nung isang structure..gagana na ang isip mo.. mapapatanung ka na lang sa sarili moh..panu kaya ang plano dun??icoconsider mo lahat kahit hanggang structural ng isang building…ganyan katindi ang isang arkitekto…^__^ They think..They design..They build!

Why Not Be An Architect

ARCHITECTURE REQUIRES A LOT OF WORK AND DEDICATION

Since I was young, I got used to a hectic schedule, I mean, that kind of life that I always have something to do, like school works plus a combination of organ lesson, mini band, taekwondo class, and a school paper staffer. It came to the point that I was involved in all-of-the-above activities, and I'm telling you, it required a lot of self-motivation and dedication to do all my tasks at the age of 10. I thought everything was cool, because I got used to live a busy lifestyle, so no complaints, I could handle it for the rest of my life - until architecture came. From the time I went to college, my highschool friends labeled me as the busycat, because I am a lot busier than them in terms of academics and soon-to -be profession. Drafting is one of the "essence" of being an architecture student, and it demands too much of someone's time, compared to studying and just processing all the data that needs to be memorized. But hey, architecture students are just not into drafting. We draw, memorize, analyze, and compute. We lose more hours of sleep and social life compared to students take other courses. We even risk or hygiene, sleep or eating just to make the most of every second and every minute of working hours possible. To be a licenced architect, it will take about 7 years. First, you have to take the course that lasts 5 years, and if you can graduate on time and avoid being an irregular student by any chance, you're lucky. The idea of doing the thesis to be able to graduate actually scares me because thesis totally required a lot of work and dedication. After graduating, you have to work in an on-job-training that lasts around 2 years, then after that, you can finally take the exam, and if you pass the exam on the first take, you are lucky. But the obstacle doesn't stop there. Working as an architect deals so much pressure, and compared to the other jobs, the working hours of an architect are longer and undervalued, regardless the amount of effort. So yeah, architecture rocks! Architecture doesn't only require work and dedication. It also requires inspiration. Designers like architects, fashion designers, interior designers or any types of designers also rely on inspiration to get through the job. But because the world out there can be cruel, selfish and be demanding at times, inspiration is something you can't schedule, harness, or control.

In 5 years of studying architecture and continuing to gain experiences,eh lahat naman siguro tayo eh kelangan ng dedikasyon at hardwork to continually learn and grow, remaining throughout their career as student not just of architecture but life. As Vitruvius said,an architect should be a good writer, a skillful draftsman, versed in geometry and optics , expert at figures, acquainted with history, informed on the principles of natural and moral philosophy, somewhat of a musician, not ignorant of the lawand of physics, nor of the motions, laws and relationsto each other., of the heavenly bodies.

The pay and benefits are not as good as they could be

Sabi ng iba pag Architect ka, ibig sabihin non eh malaki ka daw kumita..kumbaga akala ng iba pag nakatapos ka ng kursong arkitektura eh yayaman ka kaagad..Ganon ba yun kabilis???Isang napakalaking AKALA yun ng nakakarami..

Katulad na lang pag may isang project ang isang architect.Iniisip ng iba nan a ang 8-10% na PF o Professional fees ay sa arkitekto lamang yun mapupunta..Ayun eh isa na naming maling akala..Sa 8-10% na PF ay ibabawas ang PF ng mga allied professionals tulad ng mga normal structural engineer,mechanical,electrical,plumbing sanitary atbp… ibabawas pa din don ang ibabayad sa building permit,staff salary, atibp ulit..haha..at ang matitira don eh yun ang para sa PF ng arkitekto.Bukod pa don,kadalasan sa isang architectural firm ay walang benepisyo para sa kanilang mga empleyado..

If your ideals are important to you, you will lose work

Kadalasan sa isang kliyente eh gusto talaga nila ang nasusunod..kahit na sabihin mong hindi pwede ang ganun at may binigay kang suhestyion na mas makakabuti atmas maganda tas ayaw nila pakinggan..kung ang isang arkitekto eh susunod na lamang sa gusto ng kliyente sana ih di na sya ng aral ng arkitekto at nag draftsman na lamang sya..pero kung mahalaga sa isang arkitekto ang mga kanyang mga pananaw o tungkulin nya bilang isang arkitekto eh gagawin nya ang tama at hindi na itutuloy ang proyekto.

Akala ng iba ganun lang kadali ang trabaho ng isang arkitekto..sabi nila,alay nagdrodrawing lang naman yan..Pero di nila alam na kung gano paghirapan o pagpuyatan ang isang proyekto para matapos lang ito ng naaayon sa oras na nakalaan para ditto..Ang ibang arkitekto pagkalabas sa opisina tapos diretso sa bahay eh trabaho pa din ang pagkakaabalahan..pagbubuhusan at paglalaanan ng panahon.Sunod pa dito ang pagbisita sa construction site. .
